Hau`oli Lā Hānau Chloe!

Hau`oli Lā Hānau means "Happy Birthday" in Hawaiian! Today was Chloe's 7th Birthday Luau. It was so much fun!! She has been wanting a Hawaiian Birthday Party since two days after her 6th birthday (nothing like planning ahead). She knew what she wanted at her party-she wanted hula skirts, leis and lots of cake (preferably chocolate). She was so excited about her party today that she woke up at 5:00 this morning ready to party!

We had a good time before the party as well. We stuffed the little hula girl pinata full of candy and toys, got the cake and treats ready to go and finished decorating. Once everything was set and ready to go, we spent some time visiting and playing with Auntie Kim. We danced, practice our limbo moves, and laughed. The kids had fun sticking their heads into the hula dancer photo stand we had.

We also had a great time dancing to our authentic Hawaiian music. That was fun!

Soon all of Chloe's guests began to arrive and it was time for the fun to begin. The first thing we did was make leis. This was a fun project (although a bit hard to get everyone started). The necklaces and bracelets turned out beautiful. All the girls (and a couple of boys) looked great in their Hawaiian garb.

After we finished making our leis, we played limbo. What luau would be complete without limbo? The kids had a hard time at first but they soon got the hang of it. It was a lot of fun.

Chloe's cake was beautiful. It was a gorgeous tropical sunset. The bakery did a fabulous job on the decorating. All the kids couldn't wait to tear into the cake of course.

Chloe received so many wonderful things for her birthday. Littlest Pet Shop Toys, A stuff dog she can dress up, a beautiful watercolor set, Hannah Montana board game, Sleeping Beauty doll, DS games and so much more!! She was so excited and loved everything she received.

Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us. It was such a great party!

I have been told that I must explain the picture of Chloe holding up the socks and the look on her face. Matt has been asking her what she wanted for her birthday but she could never make up her mind. So he told her she was just going to get socks. Nothing else. So that is why she was making the funny face holding up the socks. She wasn't impressed with her gift (there was more too it but the socks had to come first). =)
