We don't see a lot of snow on the island since the wind off of the water tends to keep us a little warmer than the rest of the sound but every once in a while conditions are just right and we get some. We got between 1-3" this morning much to the kids excitement. It started to melt a bit around 10am when the sun started to break free but as we move into the afternoon the temperature has dropped and it is snowing again. The base is closed so Matt got an unexpected three-day weekend and school is on a two-hour delay. We decided it wasn't worth trying to get Chloe to her 10am class so she got to skip her jump rope and science classes. We will do schoolwork later this afternoon when Aidan goes down for his nap. Since we don't get a lot of snow here there are only a handful of people who can actually drive in it. Which means we only leave the house when we actually have to. So here are some great pictures of all my kids (including the big one) playing in the snow.
