Tractor Toys!
Today Chloe and Aidan got to spend a little time out at their Nana and Poppa's house. Always a great place for grandkids, lots of love and spoiling and there is always a new toy. Today was no exception. Last year for her fourth birthday, Chloe received a John Deere tractor (child-size of course). She loves it. Especially once the weather warms up and she can actually ride it all over the the place. Poppa has been lamenting over the fact that his granddaughter got a John Deere before he did, well this past week his wish came true, he now has his own (X-Large) John Deere lawn mower.
After watching Chloe drive around the lawn on her tracter Aidan got to go for a ride for the first time. At first he wasn't so sure about the ride than he got into it a little more. He enjoyed it for little bit and than he decided that he like Poppa's new "toy" much better! Chloe liked Poppa's tractor but it sure is loud! She decided that hers is better because it has a trailer and Poppa's doesn't.
Holland Happenings
Today was the annual Holland Happenings Parade here in town. We had a great time! Dad couldn't be here because of another trip but we made the best of it. Nana joined Chloe, Aidan and myself downtown for the parade and the streetfair. The weather couldn't of been better, sunny, beautiful, slightly breezy but wonderful after two days of horrible weather.
Chloe loves going to the parade, she has quickly learned that it means getting free candy from the people in the parade. She was especially into all the school marching bands and loved the horses. Aidan was overwhelmed! He was pretty quiet throughout the entire parade, just taking it all in. I think the loud sirens at the beginning of the parade made him a bit nervous. Towards the end he seemed to settle in a bit more and enjoy himself.
After the parade we went to a great little bistro downtown, we were the only ones there. It was nice and quiet. Aidan seemed to come out of his shell. He picked on his sister the whole time we were there, wanting everything she had. Chloe is still fighting a pretty bad cold so I think the time indoors was a good break for her.
Once we finished our delicious lunch we walked to the streetfair. There werw a lot of fun booths to look at but nothing particularly exciting. A lot of clothing and odd toys and hats. Not as many art booths as years past. Nana got the kids a giant bubble making kit. Tomorrow we will make the bubble recipe and see how well it works.
As you can imagine, the parade and the street fair wore out both kids, they both went down for a nap as soon as we got home. Mom took a catnap as well.

Sewing My Fingers to the Bone
Well, here I am, knee-deep in costumes once again. The time for the school play is fast approaching and I am relatively calm. Hard to believe I know. I am daily thanking God for my mom and her amazing talent with a sewing machine. She has been an incredible help as I try to conquer my growing list of costume needs for "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe".
So far over the past week I have sewn two beaver costumes, a leopard costume and a unicorn costume. I have a bit of finishing up to do on those projects but they should be done this weekend. My mom is hard at work on the White Witch's costume (no small feat I assure you). Let's see, all I have left are . . a wolf costume, finish the lion suit, two fairy costumes, finish a cape, alter two tunics, a ghost costume, make a rabbit costume into a bear costume, sew furry pants for Tumnus, create a costume for a Centaur (half man-half horse) . . . Yikes! I better stop now before I give myself a hernia. There is much more on my list to go!
So if the thought occurs to you over the next month--I could use your prayers, for sanity, patience, and all the help I can get!! I know that God can do the impossible and right now, the play feels like the impossible as I stare at my lengthy "To Do List".

Chloe's Day at the Doctor
Today was Chloe's turn to visit the doctor. It was for her five year check-up. Chloe is quite tall for her age (not surprising if you look at Mom's family tree) at 44 inches tall. At five years old she is already in size 6 clothes, can you believe it? She is now also 47lbs. She just recently went through a growth spurt. Chloe is perfectly healthy and is doing great. Her vision is good and she even knows the beginning of her ABC's.
For those of you who don't get to hear Chloe every day, her speech is growing in leaps and bounds. We still have a lot of work ahead of us, which can be frusterating at times. But daily I am reminded of the beautiful little girl that God blessed us with. Her speech will come along in His perfect timing, meanwhile we are all learning valuable lessons of patience, grace and love. Thank you for all your prayers for her speech and other delays, I can see God's hand daily in her life.

Chloe's Tumbling Class
Chloe has only been taking Tumbling for about two months. She is still taking ballet and tap once a week as well but was missing tumbling (she had it in her dance classes the previous two years) so we added that to her schedule. She really enjoys it. She is in the class with two other girls her age, the rest are much older. She looks up to the older girls and cannot wait to do flips, walkovers, etc. just like them.
She is learning to do cartwheels, somersaults, handstands, bridges and tuck-n-rolls. She is still learning and needs help with some of the moves. Chloe gives it her all every week and comes home exhausted but very excited. She also gets to be part of the Tumbling routine for the dance recital, in addition to her Ballet and Tap dances! She got her Tumbling costume today and cannot wait!
Aidan's Second Tooth
It is finally here! Aidan got his second tooth today. It is his bottom, left tooth. Hooray! He spent the afternoon at his Aunt Lisa's. He chewed and gnawed on the sides of the playpen and finally broke it through the gums. He is much happier tonight than he has been in days! Now only 18 more baby teeth to go!

Aidan's 9 Months Old
Aidan is now 9 months old! I can barely believe it. Hs is SO big! He looks like he is already over a year old. Here is what is going on in his world. On March 31, 2007: Aidan finally got his First Tooth! It is his front, bottom right one. He is busy working on the second one!
He is a mean crawler. He is no longer "inchworming" his way all over; he is now up on all fours. Plus he is fast! He keeps us on our toes. He loves to explore the house and go from one end to the other, especially to see what his big sister is up too! Aidan loves to get in the middle of whatever she is doing. He is into everything and anything and finds the weirdest things. He is also pulling himself up using whatever furniture or person happens to be nearby. Unfortuneately he hasn't quite figured out how to get down gracefully. So we are still working on that but he is getting there. He is starting to figure out how to move along furniture and the playpen. He will be completely mobile before we know it.
We just came back from the Doctor's office for his check up. Aidan is developing right on track and perfectly healthy. His weight has dropped some (to be expected since he is still nursing and he was very sick a few weeks ago). So we have to go back to the doctor in six weeks just to monitor his weight. Today Aidan weighs 18lbs 5oz (two weeks ago he was at 19lbs 4oz), still a lot for a 9 month old. He is 27 7/8 inches long, he is getting very long. All in all he is a very happy, content baby despite a strong stubborn streak.

Easter Fun
I know that Easter is already in the past but I thought you all might want to see us in our springtime best. (Yes, Chloe does have her brother in a headlock, she was trying to keep him from crawling away). This was Aidan's first Easter, I am sure he thought it was just another day, although he did enjoy digging in his Easter basket. Chloe loved the excuse to dress up in her pretty new dress. She had a good time digging through her basket and loved her "How to be a Princess" and "Devotions for Preschoolers" books that she got. I think this is the first year she really started to grasp the meaning of Easter.
We all went to church early so that Chloe could do the egg hunt. She enjoyed doing that even though she didn't get much candy. Aidan loves going to church, especially for the music, he likes to watch the drummer. I signed during the worship service. The message was really good, but Aidan is working on his second tooth so he didn't let me enjoy very much of it.
After church we went to Aunt Lisa's for a nice relaxing afternoon. We had a great time. Aidan crawled all over the place and played with Sassy (the dog). Chloe got to do another egghunt which she loved. She is definately becoming a pro at them. She found lots of eggs this time so she was pretty excited. It was a nice way to wrap up our Spring Break--with friends and family!

Staying in Touch
With all of our friends and family so spread out these days, we want to be able to keep in touch. We have received so many complaints about our website no longer working (and the pictures not being updated enough) that we thought we would try something new. So here is the Webster Family Blog. A great way for us to keep up with all of our friends and family and for you all to know what is going on in our lives.
Please be patient with me as I learn how to use this new technology. This blog is a work in progress.
